Havnt posted anything in so long so here are a few drawings from my initial reseach into my tile project.
Need to start using this blog more as I’m finally getting into my university course. It’s not exactly what I thought it would be but it’s good all the same.
Our first project was a print making project which I’m disappointed to say that I didn’t do my best at. I just couldn’t get into it drawing is not one of my strong points as I don’t see myself as an illustrator or print maker, I’m more ceramics ad mould making. Although I do like textiles I hate doing the work towards my final outcomes. We had a lecture with Laura mccafferty in one of the first few weeks which was incredibly embarrassing as I didn’t know it was with her and didn’t recognise herĀ so I managed to embarrass myself a great deal by telling one of my favorite illustrators/ textile artists/ print makers that I didn’t like drawing as I thought it was too basic and over rated. I hope I never meet her again. http://lauramccafferty.com/
Another project we did was on colour which took me a while to get into but I managed it in the end, we basically had to colour forecast for the next few years by mixing our own colours from a historical source, contemporary source and our ow work. It was quite dull and repetitive.
The project I am working on now is mould making which I love doing. Our aim is to take an object and give it a new function through mould making and I have found some great artists who do that. I will try and post some images tonight of my work as I have a seminar in half an hour which I need to attend. Also I’m cooking dinner tonight for a few of my flat mates. Sausages, Yorkshire puddings, roasties, vegetables, mash, and gray which I can’t wait for.
That’s its for now, sorry for not posting so much recently but I’m going to try and make it up and also post some things on my new word press blog which we started at the beginning of the course. I’ll post the link once Ive sorted it out.
